GreenWood Forest Park, North Wales’ leading family adventure Park has launched its latest attraction just in time for the Easter holidays. The new activity, which has been named the WildWEB, is a six metre tall double mast rope pyramid. The WildWEB was officially launched on Thursday 3rd April by local school children from Ysgol Parc Y Bont.

The new activity, which has been named the WildWEB, is a six metre tall double mast rope pyramid. Children will be enthralled by the challenge of climbing this exciting new addition to the Park.
The WildWEB is due to be completed in time for its official launch on 3rd April where children from Ysgol Parc Y Bont on Anglesey will be invited to unveil the attraction.
One of the Park’s owners, Andrea Bristow had this to say about the new attraction “This will be a brilliant new play addition at GreenWood and will offer hours of fun”
At GreenWood Forest Park, you are very likely to meet one of their beautiful peahens or peacocks on your day out.
This season however you will see more than just the odd one! After welcoming four chicks last season the Park is now home to a family of seven. GreenWood is now looking for a new home for two of its peahens. The Peahens had this to say “ready to leave the nest and are looking to get married or set up home with partner. Must be kind male. Would consider moving out on our own just to get independence”

With this year’s Wales Tourism Week running during February half term, GreenWood Forest Park, took the opportunity to invite its Government representatives to the Park. On Friday 28th March GreenWood welcomed Alun Ffred Jones AM and Hywel Williams MP to discuss topical issues affecting tourism. Other local attraction owners and businesses also attended to join them for coffee and cake.
GreenWood’s Managing Director Stephen Bristow commented “We were delighted that Hywel and Alun Ffred were able to attend. They both have significant influence in policy making on tourism issues at Westminster and in Cardiff, and were able to update us on a variety of matters. Here at GreenWood they were able to speak with local attraction operators, accommodation owners and tourism professionals, and local people whose lives are affected by tourism issues, and responded to questions on a range of subjects.”
On Friday 21st February GreenWood was privileged to meet a brave little girl called Elin who was voted the North Wales Chronicle Child of the Year. Elin who is 8 years old was diagnosed with Leukaemia in July last year. She enjoyed a fantastic day out visiting GreenWood as well as other businesses in the area.
GreenWood is delighted to announce that they have won the Best Family Attraction award with The North Wales Chronicle for the third year running.Voted for by Chronicle readers, the award was presented to us on Wednesday 15th January by Chronicle representative Lisa Shepard.

We are delighted to have had some new fluffy arrivals! The baby peacocks were born at the end of July and they are settling in well in their new home. The peacocks are the babies of Penelope; who only arrived at GreenWood in 2011.

North Wales’ leading Family Adventure Park, GreenWood Forest Park has announced that it has received a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence award. The accolade, which honours hospitality excellence, is given only to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveller reviews on TripAdvisor, and is extended to qualifying businesses worldwide. Only the top-performing 10 per cent of businesses listed on TripAdvisor receive this prestigious award.
To qualify for a Certificate of Excellence, businesses must maintain an overall rating of four or higher, out of a possible five, as reviewed by travellers on TripAdvisor, and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months. Additional criteria include the volume of reviews received within the last 12 months.
GreenWood Forest Park’s Visitor Services Manager Mark Rowlands had this to say about winning the award “We are delighted to be awarded this prestigious certificate for the second consecutive year. The GreenWood Team as a whole have contributed to our TripAdvisor success. Some of the GreenWood Staff enjoyed an afternoon out recently to Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens. The attraction which is based on Anglesey, only opened recently.
The staff enjoyed a lovely afternoon walking around the gardens and finished it off with tea and cake in the café.
After officially opening GreenWood Forest Park / Gelli Gyffwrdd (then the GreenWood Centre) 20 years ago this year, Lord Dafydd Wigley was back at the Park celebrating his 70th Birthday with his Family.
Dafydd was joined by his family including his four Grandchildren who were enjoying their day out at GreenWood / Gelli Gyfwrdd. His young Grandson Cai Dafydd had this to say about the Park “ Y lle chwarae gorau yn Nghymru / it’s the best place to play in Wales”
His Granddaughter Ana Wigley, 6 told us “Fy hoff reid i ydi’r y Sleid fawr a’r roller-coaster / My favourite ride is the Big slide and the roller-coaster”
Dafydd has fond memories of opening the centre back in 1993, and mentioned “ Mae coed wedi tyfu’n aruthrol ers i mi agor y parc ugain mlynedd yn ôl / The Trees have grown a lot over the past 20 years”
Co-owner of GreenWood Forest Park, Andrea Bristow was very happy to bump into the family in the café- “ It was lovely to see a familiar face again, I feel Dafydd Wigley has not changed in 20 years.”
